The Den – Mini Movers

This week in mini movers we used water on the playground and paint brushes, we used big movements to paint circles. We played a game of Twister in the Den, we got in a bit of a tangle. [Best_Wordpress_Gallery id=”198″ gal_title=”2016/17 The Den Mini Movers 2″]  

The Den – Life Skills

This week we learnt about letter writing, we each picked a name of someone from the group and wrote them a letter. We added addresses and stamps and went for a walk to the postbox to post our letters. We are looking forward to receiving our letters through the post. The Den – Chill Skills

This week in chill skills we thought about the affect our words have on others, we used water balloons to represent our negative words and actions, after we had thrown the balloons we were asked to put all of the water back into the broken balloons to make them as good as new, we soon realised that this was impossible. Eagles Class – Glorious Galaxies

In our first art topic we explored using mixed media to create bright and colourful images of space. Intrinsic to this was an understanding of the golden spiral using Fibonacci numbers, which helped the children draw the spirals of galaxies with greater precision. Eagles Class – Scientific Spinners!

Eagle class’ child led investigation mirrored our earlier work on parachutes. The children started by posing a question and creating a hypothesis. They then tested their prediction by conducting experiments. In this investigation they aimed to find the best design to make a paper spinner fall slowly.
