Mr Gale’s English set shared the story of ‘Mama Miti’ (a Kenyan folk tale) as part of our work during our recent ‘Poverty Week’. The children enjoyed learning how one person made such a difference to the lives of so many and wrote contrasting paragraphs about the situation before, and after Mam Miti’s help.
Kite Class shared the book ‘Clockwork’ by Philip Pullman as part of our daily guided reading.
This afternoon we were lucky enough to go and have a tour around the finished Church renovation! The children had a lovely time looking for clues to help them answer questions about the church and enjoyed exploring all the hidden passageways.
Kite Class have been learning about rainforest habitats in their topic lessons. Mr Gale’s English Set thoroughly enjoyed learning about William Shakespeare and reading the tragic tale of ‘Hamlet’. They did some outstanding work in response, including diaries, newspaper reports, eye-witness accounts and reviews. Mr Gale was very proud of their efforts!
